ETHICS AND BALL TAMPERING, THE UGLY SIDE OF GENTLEMEN GAME

Ball Tampering, the ugly side of cricket

When you are representing your country, it is the prime duty of any citizen to place your country in a highly respectable position, be it in a war field, politics, games or what ever it may be.  But, you should follow some ethics to achieve that.  Cricket is believed to be a gentlemen's game.

A day after South Africa has thrashed Australia at the Hobart test, taking a unassailable lead of 2-0, the South African cricket team and Captain are in some sort of problems.  During the Hobart test , the South African skipper is seemed to have done ball tampering.  A footage showing Du Plessis applying saliva to the ball with a lolly in his mouth is seriously reviewed by ICC to see whether he has breached the governing body;s code of conduct.

Applying an artificial substance to the ball to change its shape, colour ,size come under the code of conduct.

Earlier in 2013, Faf du Plessi was found guilty and fined 50% of his match fee in the second cricket test match against Pakistan.
